What we do

Our focus

The Gujaga Foundation has three main focus areas:

  • Dharawal Language Program

  • Cultural Experiences

  • Projects and Consulting

We are uniquely placed to deliver these services due to the fact that the Gujaga Foundation is 100% owned and controlled by Traditional Owners of Coastal Sydney and the Illawarra.

Language Delivery

The Gujaga Foundation provides Dharawal Language classes to Early Childhood Centres, Preschools and Primary Schools within our Cultural Boundaries. Our Dharawal Language Educators teach 2000+ children across 50+ Early Childhood Centres, Preschools and Primary Schools.

We also deliver adult Dharawal Language programs for Dharawal people and family members of Dharawal people.

Our goal is for Dharawal language to be passed on within families as it was prior to the protectionism era.

The Gujaga Foundation provides Cultural Experiences to a diverse range of clients. The cultural experience services are developed and delivered by culturally authorised members of the La Perouse Aboriginal community to provide participants an authentic localised experience.
